First question every web site designer must ask themselves...

"Do you want the people visiting this site to notice it?"
This is the question that Seth Godin says that every web site designer must ask themselves. I think it makes a lot of sense. For example, he says the musicians, and artists want people to notice the site, but other people who are trying to sell products for instance do not want there consumers only caught up in the site rather than the actual product. If you ad too much style to a web site for example, it may attract the viewer to much to the site rather than the actual product.

Earnest

Seth's Blog - Click Here

"Seth Godin posted this on his blog and I want you guys to try analyze it yourselves: In the ongoing battle between dismissive irony and well-intentioned trustworthiness, the early rounds always seem to go to those that sell snark. Snark is clever and funny and easy to spread. Snark protects us from confronting the truth of the situation, and snark is incredibly easy to do. Snark is fun, but it doesn't look good on you. In the long run, though, it's those with right intention, a long term view and consistent persistence that m manage to win. Good thing, too."

Sony's New Motion Conrolled Headphones

Sony's New Motion Conrolled Headphones

Finally headphones that pause your music when you pull them out of your ears...ingenious! This is a great idea but its obviously not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I must say it is a good idea that does solve a problem especially the example hipstomp uses in his post.

Give it a look.

A Million Squirrels

A Million Squirrels

The article actually is pretty interesting and to the point. It basically goes about saying how every blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then. Ha! What Seth is trying to say by this is that even when it comes to little things such as posting community driven goofy websites, like the example in his blog, you can get a shot at making money. I agree with him because there are so many things in the world that are very simple and you feel like you can do them just as good as any other person is doing it, but that person is making a million dollars for it whereas you're only making a little amount. It is just how the world works. A blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.
